Can a structure participate in a landscape without altering its essence? Located on the waterfront of Planos, Zakynthos, Makai Resto Bar explores the fluid boundary between land and sea. It is a study on the condition of the “in-between”—where the permanent natural environment and temporary architectural interventions coexist in perfect harmony.

Morphology of the Sea: The geometry of the floor plan draws inspiration directly from the rhythm of the waves. Undulating wooden curves act as the main organizational axes, seamlessly defining dining zones and directing paths toward the open horizon.

Ephemeral Architecture: Designed with sustainability at its core, the venue utilizes lightweight, adaptable structural timber. The layout allows for potential disassembly and complete restoration of the natural ground.

Material & Light Continuity: The textures, earth tones, and warm organic elements mimic the local coastal landscape, blending effortlessly with the Mediterranean light.
