Located in the natural landscape of Volimes, in northern Zakynthos, this private residence is conceived as a dialogue between traditional island architecture and contemporary living. The design respects the authentic character of the existing stone building while introducing a refined spatial language defined by natural materials, warm light and a strong connection to its surroundings.

Architecture and landscape are treated as a continuous composition.

The residence unfolds through a sequence of generous indoor and outdoor spaces. Local stone facades, terracotta roof tiles and mature Mediterranean vegetation allow the architecture to blend naturally into the landscape. Shaded terraces, outdoor dining areas, landscaped gardens and the swimming pool create distinct settings for relaxation throughout the day, while carefully positioned openings frame views towards the Ionian Sea.

Natural wood, textured stone, soft neutral finishes and brushed-brass details establish an understated atmosphere. Exposed timber ceilings reinforce the character of the architecture, while custom-designed furniture, integrated lighting and contemporary interventions bring clarity and functionality to the interior.

The bedrooms are designed as peaceful retreats, combining simple forms, natural textures and bespoke storage solutions. In the bathrooms, sculptural stone basins, softly illuminated mirrors and minimal brass fittings transform functional spaces into intimate, sensory environments.

The result is a residence where tradition, contemporary comfort and Mediterranean living coexist in harmony.
